Acadia National Park, situated on the Atlantic coast of Maine, harbors a mesmerizing blend of oceanic shoreline, dense woodland, and granite peaks. It is the oldest national park east of the Mississippi River and was originally established as Sieur de Monts National Monument in 1916. Later, in 1919, it was renamed Lafayette National Park before finally earning its current designation in 1929.
